Location: Saskatoon, SK Title Senior Environmental Scientist Job Type: Full-Time Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Earth, Water and Environment, the Sr. Environmental Scientist will provide expertise in the areas of environmental investigation, assessment, and remediation. Specific responsibilities will include: Advanced technical and project management of investigation, assessment and remediation projects. Client liaison; preparing proposals and reports for clients. Conducting environmental monitoring, reporting and review. Providing high level technical environmental advice and regulatory liaison on a broad spectrum of issues. Providing a leadership role and participating in training activities, specifically mentoring and transferring knowledge to junior employees. Conducting environmental impact assessments and baseline studies, soil and groundwater investigations and environmental due diligence audits. Providing contaminated land services to the mining, land development, other private and government sectors. Managing and analyzing environmental reporting for projects. Planning, developing schedules, coordinating and directing staff on important engineering projects to meet completion deadlines. Assisting in the continued development and marketing of the MDH Earth, Water and Environment consulting group. Job Requirements: A degree in environmental science or environmental engineering, with a minimum 10 years’ experience. A post-graduate degree is highly desirable. Knowledge of federal and provincial (both Saskatchewan and Alberta) legislation. Experience working in a regulatory environment is desired. Proven record of independent work along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; clear, concise report writing skills are essential. Superior technical and project management skills.
