Location: Saskatoon, SK & Edmonton, AB Functional Area: Engineering (Civil/Environmental/Geology/ Hydrogeology) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: To be negotiated Job Description: MDH is currently recruiting for versatile civil technicians in its Saskatoon and Edmonton Laboratories. The successful applicant will have a lead/supervisory role in field and laboratory materials testing of soils and mine waste. Work in the field would involve gathering samples of soil, water and groundwater and logging test holes during drilling. Assisting other geotechnical and environmental staff with field investigations, geotechnical instrumentation, and sampling will also be required. Knowledge of Total Station Surveying would be considered a definite asset. Job Requirements: Relevant technical diploma/degree or equivalent in experience. Valid driver’s license. Desirable Skills: +3 years experience in field/laboratory testing of soils/concrete/aggregates. Strong written and oral English communication skills, strong desire to provide excellent service and a commitment to technical excellence. Must be well organized, have the ability to manage and prioritize several tasks at one time. Strong workplace safety practice.
